santa cruz january

Once again, it is sunny for the next few weeks in the Santa Cruz forecast. Not to mention it was sunny all week, with double overhead waves. And another swell hitting next week. I love stand up paddle surfing, it’s a total adrenaline rush when the surf is big. I love my little custom 7’9″ x 26″ board. These shots are from last night. I bought a GoPro and made a mount for it on my paddle. It works really well. I also finally got my new Waterfi shuffle and can listen to music now while surfing. In these photos, the swell had dropped quickly and the waves were only about 4-5′.

This weekend I am with Centurion Boats in Providence, RI for a boat show. Man, is it cold here! The temperature is around 11 degrees Fahrenheit- so good thing we are indoors! The local Centurion Boats distributor here is Winnisquam Marine, out of New Hampshire. They have been a new dealer of ours since August of 2011, and have already sold quite a few boats. Wakesurfing is just catching on here on the east coast, and we introduced hundreds of newbies to the sport this weekend. I will be coming back to this area for the New England Boat Show in Boston on Feb. 11th and 12th- so please come by to say hello! beautiful month in california!

Hello everybody!

It has been one of the most gorgeous months I have ever seen in California! The days in Santa Cruz have been sunny and warm, and we have had some amazing swell with not a breath of wind! I have been taking the month of of wakesurfing, and have just been stand up paddleboarding in the waves on my tiny custom 7’9″ “Roush Creations” SUP. It has been so warm that there have been many people out without wetsuits, and it has almost reminded me of Hawaii at times. I cannot tell you how much fun I have been having- it is definitely my new addiction! Monday after work I actually got semi-barreled for the first time ever on the left break in Capitola… and then got swallowed by the ocean three seconds later. For somebody that learned wakesurfing before surfing, I am definitely gaining a new found respect for the amazing Pacific Ocean.

Thank you for coming to my site! I have been working on this new site for about three weeks now, and finally put it live today at noon. I love to see all the hits that are coming from different countries around the world, and appreciate all the support from my extreme sports friends out there!
